With about 1,800 of this accounting for the toll, Viagra pills represent as much as half of the seized counterfeit drugs. The test on the samples was run between the months of October and November.
Amongst the seized drugs, some tablets were found to be nothing but placebos. Others whilst found to contain the core chemical of Viagra—Sildenafil, were found to possess more than twice the amount found in normal Viagra pills.
In discussing the recent seizure and results the city vows on paying better control on the inflow and outflow of anti impotence pills.
A city official announced this saying “We will keep monitoring the distribution of counterfeit drugs and try to crack down on peddlers who provide the fake medicines."
